Bio — Gerard V. Muriello, J.D., M.S. Ed.

Mr. Muriello earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology in 1994, and a Master’s of Education in 1997, both from the City University of New York, Queens College. Mr. Muriello’s M.S. Ed. was accompanied by an additional 30 credit hours of training and a Professional Certificate in School Psychology, during which he completed internships at the elementary, middle and high school levels in school districts spanning Nassau County, Long Island.
In 1997, Mr. Muriello came to Florida to take a position with the Indian River County School District as a Resource/Staffing Specialist and a Student Support Specialist. As a Resource/Staffing Specialist, he was responsible for all phases of the Exceptional Student Education process from referral to placement, acting as chair of the Child Study Team and IEP Team, and ensuring compliance with all Federal and State Special Education laws and regulations as they were applied on a case by case basis.
In 2001 Mr. Muriello decided to take this training and experience and return to school, earning his Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law in December, 2004. He served for two semesters in the Children’s Advocacy Center at the College of Law, and worked for a year after graduating for Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, Inc., serving almost entirely in its Special Education Law unit.
After several years practicing all areas of Marital and Family Law, Mr. Muriello has brought to his new private practice a re-dedication to our communities’ children with disabilities. From the mildest of learning disabilities to the most profound mental and physical handicaps, he is here to help ensure they received the free, appropriate public education to which they are entitled.
But with the recent onslaught of foreclosures in our community, children and families cannot thrive when living under the strain of our assorted financial stresses, and the possibility of losing your home. As another expression of his dedication to children and families, Mr. Muriello has also now focused his practice on Foreclosure Defense and Loan Modifications. If your home is in distress, or you have already been served with a foreclosure complaint, you have little time to take the necessary appropriate actions to protect your home. You should have an experienced attorney at your side to fight for you and your family – to fight for our homes.
